Video B, Week 9 – Feb. 8th

Homework (Biography of Eddie Murphy) is due but will be accepted until Friday. There are extra copies on the whiteboard and on the Homework tab of this blog.

The studio will be open after school on Tuesday this week from 2:20 – 4:00. If you need extra time or support feel free to utilize this time. Make sure to arrange transportation with your families before staying after.

This week we will begin filming the All in One film. We have some really clever and funny films in the works. Remember this film is where only one person is allowed to act in the group but must play 5 different characters in the film. We have fanatical fans, alien abductions, detective stories, dance groups, cheer squads, family fun, school tours, etc. Some of the shots we will use to pull this off are: close ups, mid-close ups, mid shots, wide shots and over the shoulder shots. Continuity is key and the students are being very mindful of what each character is wearing and organizing character which to film each day. Wish us luck this is the tough film for Video B.

There will be a sub on Thursday for hours 4, 5, 6 and on Friday for hours 2, 3, 4, 5, 6. Please encourage your child to make good choices and enjoy the guest teachers. The students will be storyboarding a Pixar Short (Cars), Mater and the Ghostlight on Thursday, and Pixars Inside Out on Friday. Analyzing which shots are used in famous movies is good practice and helps the students remember the shots when they plan their next film. This exercise will also help them draw camera shots to convey what they plan, so others understand.

Homework will go home on Friday for the weekend.
